Tomato Tasting, August 18

The Countryside Farmers’ Market at Heritage Farms in Peninsula will be hosting a tomato tasting at the market on Saturday, August 18 from 9am to noon. Chef Jonathon Sawyer will facilitate the tasting, giving shoppers the opportunity to compare the season's varieties side by side. Tasters are likely to see varieties like Brandywine, Garden Peach, Green Zebra, Aunt Gertie’s, Sun Gold Cherry, Nebraska Wedding, Hillbilly, Big Mama, and German Pink.

Countryside Farmers’ Markets are producers-only markets managed by the Countryside Conservancy. Countryside Farmers’ Market at Heritage Farms, located at 6050 Riverview Road in Peninsula, is held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon through October 6. Countryside Farmers’ Market at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, located at 714 N. Portage Path in Akron, is every Thursday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. through September 27.
