Bar Cento to Open October 17

Chef Jonathon Sawyer has announced the official opening of Bar Cento to the public on Wednesday October 17th, 2007! Bar Cento is located at 1948 W25th Street in Ohio City. Call 216.274.1010 for additional information.

Slow Food Northern Ohio members and friends gathered at Bar Cento on October 3 for a sneak preview arranged by Chef Sawyer and his partner Sam McNulty.

Bill Barefoot of 55 Degrees started the evening off properly with made-to-order Bellinis and a selection of wines from Bar Cento's offerings of over 100 bottles. As guests arrived, the bar filled with a variety of dishes expressing Chef Sawyer's appreciation for local ingredients with an Italian accent...fresh-from-the-oven pizzas, cured salumi, Italian cheeses, grilled Ohio lamb with white beans, olive oil, parsley & capers, seared Lake Erie walleye with parsley, bacon and malt vinegar, baked ziti with sage, pancetta, local chestnuts and fresh ricotta, Ohio potato fries with rosemary, Polenta Telephono, warm beets & blue cheese, and the most beautiful sunflower-shaped bread we've ever seen. Guest winemakers from Washington state and the Napa Valley offered tastes of their recent vintages.
