We hope you’ll join Slow Food Northern Ohio members and friends for a slow food harvest meal and a lecture by Sandy Oliver, food historian, author, and publisher/editor of Food History News. Sandy began working in food history in 1971 when she founded the fireplace cooking program at Mystic Seaport Museum . She continues researching historic foodways, provides training programs in historic cooking for museum interpreters, and speaks before professional and public audiences at museums, historical and culinary organizations. Sandy also consults on recreating historical foodways programs for museums and the history of food generally. She is the author of Saltwater Foodways and Food in Colonial and Federal America. She co-authored Giving Thanks: Thanksgiving History and Recipes with Kathleen Curtin of Plimoth Plantation.

Slow Food member Jane Busch has graciously offered to host this event at her Cleveland Heights home. Guests are invited to bring a favorite slow-cooked fall harvest dish and/or a beverage that celebrates their culinary heritage.

Please RSVP by email to cafecinq@roadrunner.com or 216.225.6311 by Monday, September 29. Let us know your name, the number in your party and what dish you would like to bring. Space is limited. Directions to the lecture and potluck will be sent upon RSVP.
