The Ultimate Winter Beer Roadtrip

Every once in a while and event comes along that just sounds like too much fun. This one is being organized by our friends the SNOBs, the Society of Northeast Ohio Brewers. Serious winter brew lovers will not want to miss this one.

Join the SNOBs for the “Ultimate” Beer and No Sweat event on Saturday, February 28, 2009.
Ride in a comfortable motor coach to Grand Rapids, Michigan, arriving just in time for the brew festival. Partake of the many beers offered at the Michigan Brewers Guild 4th Annual Winter Brew Festival (www.mbgmash.org/)located at Comstock Park. Afterwards, be driven to your hotel, to relax before heading out to enjoy the Grand Rapids brewing scene. Continue with Beer and No Sweat on Sunday, stopping for lunch and beer at a Michigan pub. There are only 50 seats available on the bus, so gather your friends and reserve your seats early!!

This is FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. Our bus will depart promptly at 7:00 am. Donuts, muffins, bagels and beverages will be available for munching on the way up. The brew festival is outside, under tents, so dress warmly for the weather. No sweating here! Our hotel is The Days Inn Suites, 3825 28th Street SW, Grandville, Michigan (http://www.daysinn.com/). Grab friends (old or new) and explore the Grand Rapids beer scene. Check out Founders (http://www.foundersbrewing.com/) , Hopcat (http://www.hopcatgr.com/), the Bob and more. Sleep in Sunday morning (11:00 am checkout). On our return home, we’ll stop at a Michigan pub for lunch and what else? More beer! Relax and enjoy the ride home. Additional munchies provided for the trip home. Raffle, SNOBs t-shirt/hat sales available on the bus.

The Road Trip Itinerary:
Saturday
Feb. 28:
6:30am: Meet at designated parking location in Westlake, check in and board the bus
7am-Noon: Bus departs and travels to Winter Brew Festival at Comstock Park, Grand Rapids, MI. Donuts, muffins, bagels and beverages available for breakfast. Raffle and T-shirt sales.
Noon-5pm: Arrive at Winter Brew Festival and enjoy the many fine beers available
5-6pm Board the bus back to our hotel, Days Inn Suites, 3825 28th Street SW, Grandville, MI
6pm-?? Dinner (your choice), then explore the brewpubs and beer bars of Grand Rapids

Sunday, March 1:
Sun. 11am: Check out and board the bus for home with a stop at one of Michigan’s fine pubs.
Sun. 8pm: Arrive back at designated parking location in Westlake

Cost:
$150 per person for SNOBs members (double occupancy)
$160 per person for non-SNOBs members (double occupancy)

Price includes: Seat and snacks on the bus, ticket to the Brew Festival (12 tasting tokens), hotel room based on double occupancy, hotel continental breakfast Sunday. Price does not include: food at the Brew Festival, Saturday night dinner, Sunday lunch
